Brew-fortified mango float: Good taste, great pairings with San Miguel Lifestyle Brews

Saturday.

This is my day, my creative day where I feel good and innovative.

Feeling accomplished and fulfilled for unknown reasons, I decided to do something new, something creative for my self and for my friends.

Celebration. That’s what I called the day.

San Miguel Cerveza Negra

Unwittingly, I found myself inside the supermarket, buying several bottles of San Miguel Lifestyle Brews, or the San Miguel Premium All-Malt, San Miguel Super Dry and Cerveza Negra, a kilo of fresh mango, big packs of Graham crackers and crushed, a can of fruit cocktail, cans of Alaska condensed and evaporated milk, and packs of Nestle cream and all-purpose-cream.

Excitedly, when I got home, I just unloaded the goods onto the table. Surprisingly, I realized that what I bought were all mango float ingredients. What about the bottles of beer? I silently asked to my self. I never drink. I just love to eat the float.

And that’s where anxiety ended.

After blending the milk with the cream, I put a tablespoonful of Cerveza Negra into the mixture. And I learned the aroma became strong and great. Its delicate smell indeed enveloped the kitchen. It’s a form of experiment and it did great. I succeeded.

I began to assemble by layering all the ingredients into a container. And topping it with Del Monte Fruit Cocktail. Refrigerated it for hours.

I labeled the innovation as ‘Mango Float fortified with San Miguel Brew’.  

            At around 3 p.m., my close friends started to arrive. It’s Rex first. Then Berto and Jimbo. Followed by Joy and Victor. Tiwi was the last to come. He brought along with him his other friend Vincent.

            When all were in, we snaked out of the house and proceeded to the beach where the family-owned ‘Bahay Kubo” located. We positioned ourselves then.

            I served each of them with a slice of mango float. Then, I introduced the San Miguel Lifestyle Brews. They were all eager to take a try. I let them pick what they wanted for a beer. Rex and Berto chose the San Miguel Premium All-Malt; Jimbo, Tiwi and Vincent, and Joy grabbed the Super Dry; while Victor and I selected the Cerveza Negra. Though I don’t usually drink, I got the Cerveza Negra for myself. I tried and I love it then. I also tried the Premium and the Super Dry and they all taste great. I love the trio. Really.

            Exactly twenty minutes passed, all demanded for another slice of float. I served. An hour after, they still all insisted for another round of beer. They obviously love the beer. As usual, I served again. The situation repeated for five times till the refrigerator ran out of loads.

            We all enjoyed the wonderful moment of eating the float and drinking the brews in the beach. Through out the breezy air and the rare beauty of the sunset, my friends frequently acknowledged the unique taste of mango float fortified with Cerveza Negra. It flavored great.  The brews, the ‘San Miguel’s finest, the internationally-recognized, the award-winning’ Premium All-Malt, Super Dry and the Cerveza Negra, all savored great too. The brew paired with mango float is the perfectly unique match for a bonding moment with ‘barkadas’.

The exceptional pairing of mango float and the brews magically styled up our day: it offered us a unique feeling of total satisfaction, enjoyment, closeness and experience ‘above the ordinary’… with a pride.

            We just love doing it again and again. Almost every week. Till we have become virtually inseparable.

As we drink more and longer, we all feel great, cool and relaxed, and that our camaraderie seemingly becomes better, closer and stronger.

Brew drinking is a truly bonding moment, indeed./*
